Starting to make sense of an innocent

We were laying in each others arms,

I felt his lips brush my forehead, cheek and nose,

Faintly felt his lips touch mine ,

But I wasn’t quite sure, so faint, so close.

So I shifted a bit and leaned down,

Kissed him as awkwardly as only I can,

This brown eyed innocent person,

This adorable and caring man.

I giggled and sighed, confused.

But we kissed again and it felt less tense,

A little more comfortable,

Like it was starting to make sense.

And yes, it started to leave me breathless,

and no, I didn’t want to quit.

But he’d never held his lips to anyone’s

So I let him process it a little bit.
